
St. Louis BOSU® Classes and Total Fitness Conditioning at The Studio. Total Fitness Conditioning includes building strength and endurance in muscles, increasing flexibility, and promoting cardio-pulmonary health. Our BOSU® classes and our Ultimate Fitness classes, round out the cardio component to total fitness at The Studio. Known by the acronym for Both Sides Utilized, BOSU is fitness ball on one side, and a stable platform on the other. Used, as you may have guessed, on both sides for different exercises, the BOSU offers greater range of motion and an unstable surface to both challenge and super-charge your workout.
BOSU® was launched in 2000 by inventor David Weck, and has become one of the most successful fitness training products in the world. Using the BOSU® represents an approach to exercise that is more mindful than traditional training. The BOSU® philosophy purports that improving physical balance through integrated movement challenges will have an impact on the brain, muscle and nerve connections. These connections can, in turn, enhance performance across a wide continuum of activities that includes sports, recreation and daily tasks. At it’s essence, BOSU® Training is about expanding movement capabilities while reshaping the body and strengthening the mind. It’s a perfect fit for The Studio! And a great addition to any fitness regimen, especially if you want to change things up.
Our BOSU® classes are focused on a cardio workout, completed with individual exercises that strengthen the core muscles taking advantage of the added range of motion provided by the BOSU®. We include some fabulous stretching at every opportunity. This hour workout is the best of all worlds. Please use caution when choosing to participate. The instability of the BOSU® is very challenging.
We will also use the BOSU® in other classes at The Studio, as a tool for achieving better muscle activation and greater range of motion.
Join us for our Ultimate Fitness class. Combines cardio, flexibility and balance work, and strength conditioning all in one 60 minute class. We will utilize different fitness tools and methods. This class will be different every time. No prior experience necessary. Only a strong desire to be your best!
